How to Care For Handmade Soap

How to Care For Handmade Soap

Picture

Use a Soap Drainer

Use a soap drainer instead of a soap dish as it is important to let your handmade soap bar drain. This is because handmade soap is not like SYNDET, or synthetic supermarket soap. Handmade soap is usually made from vegetable oils which turn into a gooey mess if you do not let the soap bar drain and dry adequately after use.

Let Soap Bars Dry Properly

If you do not have a soap drainer, or your bathroom remains steamy after a bath or shower then simply move the soap bar. Handmade soap is a humectant and will suck in moisture because of its glycerin content. Place the soap bar on a surface that allows water to run away rather than collect around the soap bar.

Happy Soaping!
